According to a Financial Times report, Hero CEO Niranjan Gupta highlighted the positive customer sentiment towards its e-scooters in the sector. The company, a major player in Asia, Africa and Latin America, plans to capitalize on this enthusiasm as it shifts to electric mobility. Let us tell you that the company has not had much success in the electric vehicle segment in the Indian market.
Apart from its electric scooter plans, Hero is also exploring the possibility of exporting larger motorcycles with conventional petrol engines to the UK and other European countries, including its premium Maverick model. However, analysts believe that success in this evolving market requires offering more expensive and premium motorcycles. The company’s entry into Europe comes at a time when India’s vehicle emission standards, which were updated in 2020, are now in line with global norms.
