India created history by winning the gold medal in the open division of the Chess Olympiad on the strength of D Gukesh and Arjun Arigesi. Apart from this, India has also won the gold medal in the women’s category. On the other hand, Gukesh has also won the gold medal in the individual event. Thus India has won 3 gold medals.

Gukesh won the Chess Olympiad for the second time in a row
18-year-old D Gukesh has created history by winning the gold medal for the second time in a row. He has achieved this success in individual competitions. Earlier he won the gold medal in 2022 Chess Olympiad. After Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand, Gukesh became the second Indian to win two consecutive gold medals. Also became the 16th World Chess Master.
