Fadnavis set to become Maharashtra CM: BJP Legislature Party elects leader, will stake claim to form government today itself
Mumbai 11 days after Maharashtra Assembly elections, BJP Legislature Party has elected Devendra Fadnavis as leader. Chandrakant Patil and Sudhir Mungantiwar proposed the name and Pankaja Munde supported Fadnavis’ name.
According to sources, the names of Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar have been finalized for Deputy CM. After the meeting of Mahayuti MLAs, the Chief Minister and 2 Deputy CMs will meet the Governor and stake claim to form the government.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place tomorrow i.e. on 5 December at Azad Maidan. The Chief Minister and both Deputy CMs will take oath in it. It is not clear how many ministers will take oath with them or not.
