On Wednesday, a Khalistani terrorist fired at former Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Sukhbir Badal was sitting as a sevadar at the gate of the Golden Temple. The Sikh supreme court Akal Takht has given him this punishment for forgiving Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim.
At the time of the incident, as soon as the attacker fired at him, his security personnel deployed in civil uniform caught his hand and lifted it up. Due to which the bullet hit the wall of the Golden Temple. Sukhbir Badal narrowly escaped from this.
After this, the attacker tried to run away, but the policemen caught him. Sukhbir Badal was immediately taken under security cover. Security has also been tightened outside the Golden Temple.
The accused has been associated with a fundamentalist organization
The accused who attacked Sukhbir is Narayan Singh Chowda, a resident of Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur. He is a member of the Sikh organization Dal Khalsa. After the incident, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Bhullar reached the Golden Temple. He said that the accused has been arrested by the police and is being questioned.
Akali leader Dr. Daljit Cheema said that an associate of Congress MP from Gurdaspur Sukhjinder Randhawa is the chairman of the market committee. The person who fired the shot is the brother of the chairman’s associate.
