US President Joe Biden forgot PM Narendra Modi’s name in an event after the Quad Summit in Delaware on Saturday. During this, PM Modi, Australian PM Anthony Albanese and Japanese PM Fumio Kishida were also present on the stage.
After addressing the program related to cervical cancer, Biden was about to call PM Modi’s name to invite him on stage, but on this occasion he forgot his name. He kept trying to remember Modi’s name for about 5 seconds.
When he could not remember, Biden himself shouted to the officer standing there and asked who is to be called next? After this, an officer present there points towards PM Modi. On this, Modi gets up from the chair. After this a staff calls him on the stage. Then Modi goes to Biden and shakes hands with him. During this, both the leaders were seen smiling.
This is not the first time that US President Biden has forgotten someone’s name. In the NATO meeting held in July, he referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as Putin. Shortly after, he referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as Donald Trump.
The US President had gone to watch paragliding, but was standing with his face turned away. Earlier, in the G7 meeting held in June, Biden was seen wandering among many world leaders. Biden, Rishi Sunak, Trudeau, Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz were watching paragliding with Georgia Meloni.
The paraglider lands from the sky carrying the G7 flag. When he lands, all the leaders start welcoming him with applause. Meanwhile, Biden is seen going far away to the other side and giving a thumbs up to someone else. Then the camera starts focusing on Biden.
In the meantime, Italy’s PM Meloni’s attention goes towards Biden going in the opposite direction and she holds his hand and brings him back to all the leaders. After this, all the leaders start talking to the paraglider.
Earlier, in another event related to G7, Biden was seen saluting Meloni. He was trolled a lot on social media for saluting.
